New school year brings changes in school, district administration

Friday, September 3, 2010

The Emporia Public Schools have four new administrators in schools this fall.

Allison Anderson is the new principal at Walnut Elementary. She previously was coordinator of Early Childhood Services for the district and supervised the preschool program and Infant Toddler program at Maynard Early Childhood Center. Earlier, she was the Early Childhood Coordinator and Integration Supervisor at DeSoto and a school psychologist for the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative.

Judy Stanley is the new coordinator for Early Childhood Services at Maynard Early Childhood Center.  She previously was an instructional coach at Logan Avenue Elementary. Stanley has 14 years of experience in the Emporia Public Schools as a classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, and reading strategist.

Ginger Robert is the principal at Village Elementary School. She was appointed to the position to fill the vacancy of Wendy Moore, who transferred to the district’s Teaching and Learning Office. Last year, Robert was the assistant principal at Emporia Middle School. She previously was an instructional coach and language arts teacher for five years at EMS.

Austin Entress is the new assistant principal and athletic director at EMS. After graduating from Emporia State University, he joined the district as a social studies teacher in 2006, and he also has been a basketball and track coach at EMS.
