Benefit dinner and auction

A benefit dinner and auction for Danny Williams will be held Sept. 11 at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave. This benefit is to help defray medical expenses for Williams, who was recently diagnosed with ALS — Lou Gehrigs Disease. Williams is no longer able to work to support himself.
Dinner, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will be served by Coburn’s Restaurant. All proceeds will go to the “Danny Williams Fund.” The auction will start at 7 p.m., with viewing of items at 6 p.m. The auctioneer will be Mark Swisher of Swisher Auction Service.
Those who wish to donate items can call Captain Jeremiah Burris of the Salvation Army at 344-1743, Larry Vaughn at (620) 757-3983 or Gary Williams at (620) 366-1259 to arrange a time for pick up or to drop off items.
