Yeah, and on another subject I wonder why the Gazette even conducts these online polls? Citizens of Emporia will overwhelmingly vote and/or voice their opinion on a particular subject then the elites running our great city do just the opposite. I.E.: The downtown parking meters, a huge proportion voted to take them out completely but the city will go ahead and revamp them so they can be kept. The money the city makes does not warrant a golf cart driver to go around harrassing peope for conducting biz downtown.

If you feel you can do a better job,please become part of the fair board.Your time and money will be of great help towards making this a better community.(my opinion- one person in the county might even consider this over the next year-maybe)

Betty - before you write an idiotic article like this one maybe you should do the following: Before you start trashing the fair board maybe you should go out and spend a few hours while they are volunteering on their work nights and/or weekends & see the effort they put into the fairgrounds and the activities that go on out there. It's not just a few weeks in the summer either - it is all year long. You & ET have a lot to learn. Get over it or offer to volunteer and do something about it. Have a great day.

umm chevy guy in the other thread has a great point. put the bower building where the big lots building is. great solution keeps the huts, and it takes care of another eyesore.... jmo

I say draft a plan to renovate the huts. Figure out the cost and launch a fund-raiser. If the goal is reached, renovate the huts. If not, down they go. That way those who want to keep them can put their money where their mouths are.
