An Emporia business finished a remodeling project this week and is offering a special.
Crystal Nails and Spa, 1604 Industrial Road, added six new pedicure seats, including a children’s pedicure seat. The store is offering a special of $5 off for any pedicure services until Dec. 3.
Nina Le, owner of Crystal Nails and Spa, said the remodel was completed on Sunday evening. The process took a month and a half, Le said.
Now that the business has been remodeled, Le said there’s a separate space for pedicures and manicures.
Le said she wanted to remodel the store to offer customers the latest technology and products. Le said the pedicure room is perfect for parties. Also, the seats of each of the six pedicure chairs fold up to allow a child to sit on the seats.
There’s also a separate child’s chair called a Little Angel Chair, decorated brightly in reds, yellows and blues, perfect for children 12 and under, Le said.
Crystal Nails and Spa is located in the Flinthills Mall next to Dickinson Flinthills 8 Cinemas. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome.

Dynamic Nails has had the children's chair since they opened. People really need to stop being so competitive.

Why is the Gazette doing a story on this? Are they paying for the advertisement? This isn't news, it's promotion, spam if you will.

I think it might be called mutual back scratching. We'll do a little fluff piece on you and you can show your appreciation by buying some ads from us.....:-)

knewsie, It's called the "good ole boy" syndrome. I tried several times to get the Gazette to do an article on my business, but they never did. Even when we had the 50th anniversary of our business. And we had done advertising with them before. Alas, too late now. We had to close our doors this year. Oh well, I guess it's just all in who you know.

Looks great Crystal Nails! To the 1st commenter, not to mention Dyamic nails also stole a great percentage of Crystals nails business by false advertisement. Standing at walmarts giving out hand outs telling customers they are a family owned business with Crystal Nails and Terrific Nails when indeed that is not the case. Crystals Nails was already in the works of this facelift before Dyamic Nails was opened. So know your facts before you decide to post your rude comments!

biscuit, little girls often have birthday parties that feature manicures and pedicures for all. It's a big frou frou thing, and shop owners would love to get that kind of business. Plus, if not birthday parties, mother/daughter pedimani day is also big.

Sure.
In the Chicago area where my oldest lives, this mani/pedi birthday party thing is big business. No more Chucky Cheese for these girls. Also, the big girls are getting into it with mani/pedi parties too. What could be better than getting your nails done and sipping champagne with your BFL's?

I happen to LOVE Dynamic Nails compared to Crystal Nails. I would always go to Crystal because I found no real difference between them and Toeriffic - they seemed to be equal in customer service, what they offered, prices, etc. Once Dynamic came to town and I heard about how it was just Dao (sp?) and her sister running the place, and about how they offered glitter tips and solar nails, I wanted to check it out. I'm glad I did!
They are extremely friendly - the first thing they do is tell you their name and ask you yours, and if you come in a second time they'll remember you by name! I've had my toes done once, and my nails done twice, and both times they would stop several times to make sure they weren't causing me any discomfort. Probably the one thing I appreciated most though, was the fact that they spoke English the entire time, even while talking to each other.
I've also had my eyebrows waxed there. It was only $8 and she spent about a whole 10-15 minutes on them making sure they were perfect! Crystal Nails may be trying to keep up, but they honestly don't compare to Dynamic.
