Local law enforcement is seeking information about a hit and run accident that occurred in the early morning hours Sunday in the 600 block of East Fourth Avenue in Emporia.
About 3:50 a.m. a Ford Explorer was seen leaving the scene of the accident after it hit a parked tractor-trailer on the street near the corner of Fourth Avenue and East Street. The maroon colored Explorer sustained damage to the front driver’s side.
If you have any information as to the possible location of this vehicle or any information about other crimes, call Crimestoppers at 342-2273 or the Emporia Police Department at 343-4200. If the tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Hope the tractor-trailer owner has better cooperation than we did. We had a hit and run a while back. I found peices of the car that hit us that ID'd the make/model of the car and we knew what color. I called the police to tell them what I had found and never could get a return call back.
