ESU learns Elite Eight opponent
Emporia State will face Michigan Tech in the Elite Eight.
Michigan Tech, ranked third in the nation, beat Drury 84-68 in the Midwest Regional final on Tuesday night.
The Huskies are making their second straight trip to the Elite Eight while 15th-ranked ESU will be making its fifth trip since 1998.
Tip-off at the St. Joseph Civic Arena is set for 8:30 p.m. on March 23.
ESU softball home opener moved to today
The Emporia State softball team moved its home opening doubleheader with St. Mary’s to today at 4 p.m. on Turnbull Field in the Trusler Sports Complex because of a schedule conflict. The games were originally scheduled for Thursday.
The games are being moved to accommodate St. Mary’s Heartland Conference series with Newman that has been moved to Thursday to avoid the forecast of poor weather on Saturday in Wichita.
ESU tennis rained out
The Emporia State tennis matches with St. Mary’s scheduled for Tuesday in Plano, Texas were rained out. The next scheduled action for ESU is an exhibition match against Johnson County Community College to be played in Plano, Texas today. The next regular season matches will be the MIAA opener against Southwest Baptist on March 23 at the EHS Courts.
