Hornets swept in top-10 matchup

After two games were cancelled, and the weekend series opener was moved back two days due to rain, baseball finally was played at the Trusler Sports complex on Sunday, and the eighth-ranked Emporia State baseball team found itself in a very unfamiliar position: on the ground looking up.
The Hornets (10-5, 7-3 MIAA) fell to fifth-ranked Central Missouri (15-1, 10-0 MIAA) in both sides of a doubleheader. Central Missouri won the opener 8-3 before plating 8 first-inning runs in manhandling ESU 17-3 in the second game.
