MANHATTAN — The Olpe girls completed an undefeated season and won their first State championship since 1981, beating Hill City 60-48 in the Class 2A title game Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum.
Hill City stayed in it with 3-pointers early, knocking down seven of them in the first half. But the Eagles began to pull away just before halftime, scoring the last six points of the second quarter to go up 37-27 at half, then put it away for good in the third quarter.
Junior Kathryn Flott had 30 points for the Eagles, and sophomore Kendyl McDougald had 20. Olpe finished 26-0 this season.
