The ultimate compliment Lacy Corker can pay her teammate Cassondra Boston is her admission that she hates guarding Boston.
That hasn’t been a problem the last couple years, when Emporia State coach Brandon Schneider has had one of his male assistants check Boston in practice, but Corker has sympathy for any guard who has to try to defend the Lady Hornets’ star.
“I hated guarding her, because when she drives, her elbows always hit me,” Corker said. “I don’t know how she gets away with that, but I don’t care; she’s on my team.”
Corker has the same complaint many MIAA coaches try to plead with officials about, trying to get the offensive foul called. Because without that call, Boston becomes almost impossible to guard.
