EMS students excel in math competition

Emporia Middle School had four top-scoring students in the American Mathematics Competition, according to the results announced last week.
“We have four students who excelled. Breanna Granado, a seventh grader, was our building winner. We also have three other top winners, Rafael Garcia seventh grade; Kayna Hastings, eighth grade; and Emily Sichel, eighth grade,” said Ruth Vilander, an enrichment services teacher at EMS. “Their names will be added to an AMC plaque displayed in the school office.”
