Superintendent John Heim looked back at 13 years in the Emporia school district this week and liked what he saw.
Heim’s last day in the district is today. Tomorrow, he will start a new job as executive director of the Kansas Association of School Boards in Topeka.
It was time to move on, he said, and the KASB job seemed to be an ideal fit.
“About the time you find yourself saying, ‘Oh, we tried that once and it didn’t work,’ it’s time to try something else,” Heim said.
