As a senior at Emporia High back in 2008, Brian Dorsey left the soccer team to fill the Spartan football team’s gaping hole in the kicking game — even though he’d never kicked in competitive action before.
Now, he’s hoping he’ll get the chance to fill the same hole for Emporia State.
After a year at Baker University — where he was a backup/junior varsity kicker under second team all-conference kicker Derek Doerfler — Dorsey has moved back to his hometown, and he said Tuesday that he would be enrolling at ESU this week and will join the Hornets as a walk-on when training camp opens Aug. 5.
