High demand for kabobs and grilled sweet corn has prompted Big Brothers Big Sisters officials to start cooking early to supply the Farmers Market crowd on Wednesday.
Pre-orders also will be accepted, according to executive director Courtney Gagan.
Beef or chicken kabobs will cost $3 each and vegetarian kabobs will be $2; sweet corn with lemon-herb butter also will cost $2 each. Pre-orders can be placed by calling the agency at 342-5645.
“We are firing up the grill extra-early because of the demand for the kabobs, so there will be a ton ready to pick up and go,” Gagan said. “Also, while you are there, don’t forget to check out the amazing fresh items the vendors are selling.”
Orders need to be placed by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
All proceeds from the kabobs and corn will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Flint Hills.
