The Flinthills Community Church on the south edge of Cottonwood Falls on Highway 177 will be open until 5 p.m. today for all local residents who need to escape today's extreme heat.
"Continuation of this program will be considered and a decision made on a day-by-day basis," an announcement stated.
The news from attorney Bill North was passed on by Chase County School Superintendent Greg Markowitz.

I don't know what your point was with that video, 'enry, but a church doing this kind of community service is a good thing in my book.
Have you invited anyone to your home today for a reprieve from the heat?
