Extra patrols by law enforcement officers apparently have not deterred criminal activity at the Green Acres Mobile Home Park about five miles west of Emporia on U.S. Highway 50.
“It seems like there is a rash of crime out there,” Lyon County Sheriff Gary Eichorn said.
Green Acres’ population is larger than some small towns in the area, and is the site of frequent calls for deputies to take care of a range of problems, from dogs-at-large to citizen disputes to felonies.
Eichorn said that his department has stepped up the number of patrols through Green Acres, but the incidents continue, sometimes more than once at a single location.
Eichorn said that another burglary and theft was reported Thursday morning.
“The guys checked the house,” he said. “It was fine in the middle of the night. By morning — a burglary.”
Eichorn recommended that residents watch their areas for unusual activities.
“They need to be aware of their surroundings and kinda be neighborly,” he said, “and if they see something suspicious, give us a call.”
Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call the sheriff’s office, 342-5545.

This place is hardly what its name implies. It is well-known for being highly populated with known criminals. Maybe the owner should be hiring a security guard or two to help protect the minority of law-abiding citizens.

I was looking online and noticed eight 2 bedroom homes out there listed for $1,000 including lot, land and trailer. At that price it must be a really fancy place to live.

Its not the greatest place to live and it sucks to have stupid people give me and my family a bad name and for some of my neighbors also. But for some people (like me) we are just trying to raise our families.
It would be nice to have some security gaurd out here. I stay up late, and I do the whole "neighborhood watch" around my area. If I see some suspicious I call it in.
Just wanted to stick up for the "normal" people out here and let people know that its not all trash out here.

I am the resident that LIVED in #104. In the past 6 wks my place has been broken into 2 and my vehicle has been broken into 3 times. They got the truck 3 nights in a row, breaking the window. From my house they took money,jewlery,beer,a laptop comp., ect.
More than any thing this last time they got my digital camera had my baby girls' day of birth-all her 1st' valentines-halloween-christmas-1st steps ect. And if
you are the one that took the beer I hope you puked your guts out. You never know what have been put in it!! ha ha The joke was on you..And as for trinity themselves they are a rip off. I do want to thank officers Samuels, Baker, And Johnson for their help in matter. And to you MF may you rot in HELL. I am a single woman trying to make a living for herself. What I have is MINE and I'll be dammed if you get anything else from me.

Well..Well..Well...I quess the new management is'nt all that now!!!!!! The owners are thieves themselves when they start having money problems they just change owership in to the kids name and move on to....more people...I would think that it would be a must to check back grounds and immigration status!!! But no as long as they show the money it's all good. WOW That's all I can say, I wish you good luck. I suggest you do your own security you know what I mean. That's just ridiculous people come on all of you'll get togther and just take control even if that means taking shifts!!! If you were raised on a farm like I was we handle our own. This is the time to take a stand!!! Lock and Load. Shoot like you mean it. I bet it would only take one to go down and they would move the ... on!!!! Dig deep into your roots and come out a shootin!!!! Well It's really sad that Emporia has gone down so much it used to be a great place to live.

You would probably come up hot on a urinalysis test if you stay too long in that trailer park. I recommend keeping your windows rolled up and recirculate the air inside if your forced to drive through that place.

There are alot of nice people living at green acres, its to bad a few are making life hard on the rest. Maybe pool your resources and buy some wildlife cameras and home security cameras to help catch the thieves?

I know some of the people that live at Green Acres. They are real nice and clean people but the others are well to put it nicely low as dirt. I'm telling you start a watch group, do shifts, and take no...from people! Take a stand post your signs and for real come out shooting!!!! Hopefully you will hit one and then just let him lay and bleed for oh say an hour or two and talk all the .... to them you want to then it's up to you if call the law but I sure would not call 911 if you know what I mean!!!! Be the judge and jury all in one!!!!!

Green Acres is not part of Emporia. You need to go about 3 miles west of the city limits to get there.
I understand that doesn't change that its a Sh** hole and good people still have to live there. I hope things turn around for the good people out there.
