In Touch

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Tory Heatherly can’t remember a time when she wasn’t in touch with the spirits of the dead. It was something she thought everyone did.

“As a child, I saw ghosts everywhere,” Heatherly said.

They came in and out of her life as they pleased because, she said, as a child she had yet to learn the skills that would let her control their appearances.

Now, with the maturity of an adult, Heatherly uses what she calls a gift to put others in touch with their loved ones on the other side.

Heatherly offers massage therapy and her services as a medium at Sensei Salon. She also owns and operates the A+ Safety Training company, which gives training not only in general OSHA compliance but in specific areas such as running forklifts, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and handling chemicals. Her coverage region runs from Kansas City to Wichita and west to Salina.

Observer,

Perhaps you are a baby soul.

"People with the baby souls are less receptive to contact with spirits of the deceased, she said."

I think there's more things out there than we realize. She sounds harmless and who knows, maybe she really can talk to spirits. The Bible isn't really clear about what happens after we die until the 2nd coming.

She must be pretty brave to admit it, too.

Get off her back. She is a good and honest person, She is willing to risk the scorn of people who deny that anything out of the status quo can happen. Even the Bible has a story of people contacting dead people. She isn't the first.

I to have seen things that cannot be explained and I come from a spritiual and religious background. I was a minister of a small church group until going back to school.

I have talked to others that have had similar experiences, we are not alone.

Plus I should ad the reason some people are afraid to come out about being in contact with ghosts, spirits or demons is because they would be labeled a freak or treated like they have a mental illness. Trust me I have been down that road.
I am proud to see the article and that others are not afraid of the unknown.

The day I see some solid, tangible, scientific evidence that someone can communicate with the dead I will retire from these forums=)

Good for you Tory for attempting a road less traveled and being honest enough to talk about it up front. Fortunately we don't all have to march to the same old drummer.

I also don't accept that people can talk to the dead because I don't believe there is any after-life to communicate with. You die you return to the cosmos from which you came...ashes to ashes--dust to dust...so to speak. But I do admire people that think and act out the box and aren't to intimidated to admit it and be proud of it.

The persons that quoted the bible are correct. It is very dangerous to attempt to contact spirits or communicate with the dead. The Holy Trinity, being the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit should be the only one that we pray to. Any other spirit could be of an evil nature.

I'm glad the paper is glorifying a scam. You all can go give her money to make stuff up.

Remember kids, if she can't talk to your requested spirit its because they're already in another body.

I'm glad you have your cop out ready.

Good and honest is very very debatable. When you can say that you can talk to things you can't prove exist, have an excuse at the ready for when it fails to work and charge a lot of money per person in an attempt to extort from grief, I wouldn't' call that honest.

Also, I have no problem with people going to mediums and doing it with no expectations. Its the people who are going to get hurt from failed experiences that bother me.

They say for entertainment purposes only for a reason.

jmb232,
How do you know the "holy trinity" exists? How do you know they aren't really the devil in disguise?

goodoleboy,
Isn't church a scam too then? I mean, they sell you tall tales and you are supposed to spend your time and money in church. Sounds like a scam to me. If I told you you'd have a great afterlife for a small fee, would you believe me? No, because without any way to prove it, it's clearly a scam.

ToxicPink,
When you pray to God, (and he doesn't answer) is it only for entertainment purposes too? Should churches have a disclaimer?

Please answer over at my forum on religion.

I will pray for you!

January 29, 2010 at 12:22 p.m. ( | suggest removal )

HenryVIII (anonymous) says...

Landa,
Thanks, but you don't even know me. How will praying help? You might respond, "I don't know you, but God does." Perhaps, but if God is all-knowing why do you even need to pray for me? Wouldn't he already know about me and take care of it himself? Prayers seem unnecessary to me if God is really all-knowing…unless, of course, he likes to play favorites. I can see him now..."Well, I know little Timmy has cancer and doesn't believe in me, but there aren't any strangers praying for him, so I'll just turn a blind eye." What I nice God! Sounds worthy of worship to me! (sarcasm)
