Emporia lost a respected and hard-working member of the community Tuesday morning with the death of golf course manager Richard Jaggard.
Jaggard was at the golf course when he was believed to have suffered a heart attack. He was taken to Newman Regional Health.
In addition to running the municipal golf course and shop for almost 24 years, Jaggard was an active citizen in Emporia.
“He was a great individual,” said Ron Whitney, a long-time friend. “He was just active in so many activities, and he’s going to be missed for sure.”
