In the year 2110 when Kansans fly around in their Jetson-like space cars, the occupants will probably spot parallel mounds of raised earth running for miles across the state.
“What are those lines on the ground, Mommy? Were they made by aliens?”
“No, honey, that’s all that remains of the Kansas Turnpike,” the mother will say. “A hundred years ago, people drove their cars from Emporia to Topeka. I read about it in my great-grandmother’s electronic journal.”
“They used ground transportation to travel 50 miles? Weird.”
Oh, who knows what the world will be like in a hundred years? I sure don’t, but like everything else, transportation modes change. Someday our highway system may not exist.

Jan.19,2010 will go down in history as an historic victory for the people on the road to common sense and a return of government to the people. The catalyist for the victory was a pickup truck that President Obama made fun of, which ignited every redneck to get out and vote. As Ray Call found out, you don't make fun of a man's pickup. Sam Walton used his old pickup to promote his business to his advantage to build his future empire. Big potatoes rise to the top on rough roads. And 100 years from now, the pickup truck will be remembered on America's old highway system.

A lady that lived to be over 100 years old went to California in a covered wagon and before she died flew in a jet airplane to New York. To forecast a 100 years from now is mind boggling.
