Storytime

Winter Storytimes are being held at the Emporia Public Library with the theme of “Mice are Nice” for the Pat-A-Cake Club for infants to 18 months at 9:15 a.m. Thursdays and Mother Goose Time for toddlers to 36 months, 9:45 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays; “Bears and Hibernation for preschool storytime for children three to five years old at 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; and “Snowpals” for Family Night at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday night.

Ceramics class

Alan Keck’s Cancer Survivor’s Ceramic Class will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 25 through the first week in March at the Emporia High School. The class is open to all cancer survivors, with no fee to participate. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call EAC, 343-6473.

Concert

The “co-dependents” band will perform classic rock and Americana country tunes from 9 p.m. until midnight Jan. 29 at the Nowhere Bar in Americus.

ESU music

The Emporia State University Department of Music spring 2010 schedule begins with an Honors Concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2 in Heath Recital Hall at Beach Music Hall on the ESU campus. On Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Heath Recital Hall, Anne Madison, pianist, will perform. General admission, $5; students and seniors, $4. For more information, call 341-5246.

‘Tap Kids’

The EAC will present “Tap Kids” at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Granada Theatre. Tap Kids “tells the story of a group of high-school kids facing challenges as they prepare for the big school dance at the end of the day and for graduation at the end of the year. It features eight extra-ordinary rhythm tap dancers age 16-21,” according to the EAC entertainment schedule.
