Gibson has a master’s degree in library science from Emporia State University. From this area was Sheryl Wells of Elmdale, appointed to the North Central Kansas Regional Library System.

The Regional Library System in Kansas aims to provide convenient access to state of the art library resources, stated the news release. They work to consult and train library personnel and governing boards, increase cooperation among libraries and acquire funding for improvement to library services. Regional library systems also help Kansas libraries with technology services and technical support and a resource-sharing network.

KU graduates

The fall 2009 candidates for degrees from the University of Kansas from this area included Melissa Dale Reed of Emporia, doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction. From Burlington were Jennifer Lynne Hoover, senior, bachelor’s degree in political science and bachelor’s degree in journalism, daughter of Roger and Sherry Wallace; Daniel Stephen Kennamore, senior, bachelor’s degree in business and bachelor’s degree in communication studies, son of William Kennamore; Kyle Reigh Laubner, bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, son of Dan and Dawn Laubner, all graduates of Burlington High School. From New Strawn was Lucas John Culbertson, senior, bachelor’s degree in geography, son of Robert and Carol Culbertson, graduate of Burlington High School.

K-State appointment

Four Kansas State University students will service as directors of Wildcat Warm-Up in 2010, stated the news release. Student directors help plan the program and also coordinate the work of the student counselors. Named from this area was Kelsie Ball of Eureka, a junior who is studying family studies and human services. According to the news release, the program’s purpose is to establish new students’ connections to current students, faculty and staff, as well as to teach student success strategies and K-State traditions.

Does Emporia ever release their honor rolls? Do they even have an honor roll? My daughter should be on it if they do and I would love to see her name!

admireed,

I checked the Gazette regularly last quarter and I did not ever see it. Do you know, does the honor roll come out quarterly or by the semester for Emporia?

I'll keep looking for it. Thanks!
