• Charles McNeese who moved his business, McNeese Customs, to a bigger building at 622 W. Sixth Ave. In addition to offering new and used motorcycles, the larger space allows him to offer a line of apparel.
• Hunter Rand Wellnitz, the first baby born at Newman Regional Health in 2010. He is the son of Jaque and Randy Wellnitz of Olpe.
• Organizers and participants of the Bridal & Prom Expo. Two hundred people attended the event and browsed 30 vendors.
• Emporia Arts Council, which will receive a 2010 Governor’s Arts Award. The council received the award for its work to create a new arts center in downtown in Emporia.
• Organizers of a fundraising concert for Shiloh Home of Hope for Women. The event takes place at 7 p.m. today at Victory Fellowship Church.
• United Way of the Flint Hills, which is closing in on its fundraising goal. They are within $62,000 of reaching its $600,000 campaign goal.
