The contents of Madelynn’s, 511 Commercial St., will be auctioned off on Jan. 30 and 31.
The auction will start at 10 a.m. on Jan. 30 and 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 and will be held at the store. Individuals may bid online at www.ucsalina.com or may bid at the store on the day of the auction. The auction is being held by United Country Auction Services out of Salina.
The auction will simulcast on the Web as well. Items can be seen prior to the auction at the auction company’s Web site. The company is in process of loading items to the Web site, siad Freda Warfield, of the Kansas Department of Revenue.
Among the items in the auction are wedding gowns, bridesmaid gowns, tuxedos and shoes, wedding jewelry, China, stemware/silverware, store fixtures and furniture and Webkins.
The store was originally seized by the Department of Revenue on Sept. 1 for failure to pay retailers’ sales and withholding taxes. It was re-seized in December by request of the owner of the store. The owner, Jean Woods, had been holding a liquidation sale, but decided it was time to move on and allow the Kansas Department of Revenue to take over the sale of the items.
