I feel so sorry for those who must get out in this stuff to go to work. Pretty tough.

On the other hand, now is the time to get a great big pot of soup or chili going -- or a crock pot if you have to go to work. I myself have a big pot of chicken soup going right now. It fills the house with wonderful scents, and it warms the kitchen with steam off the pot. Good for your skin.

What I like to do with the leftovers is leave them in the pot and just put the pot outside on the deck, or in the garage right on the floor. The next day, warm it up again. Yum, always so good the second day.

My cat loves a little bowl of broth.

Feel sorry for the folks in Florida who must worry about all their plants. We don't because our perennials will come back in the Spring, and our annuals died months ago.

Take care, everyone, and stay safe.

Crete, would you share your receipt for chicken soup crock pot? What else besides chicken parts?

So sorry not to have answered sooner, admireed. Here you go.

Chicken parts
1 medium chopped onion
1 clove garlic
two or three chopped carrots (not too small)
2-3 stalks celery, chopped
salt and pepper
1 tsp ginger if you have it. It really adds to the zip.
A couple of chicken bouillon cubes or 1 can chicken broth.
1 can mushroom soup (this is optional, but it sure makes it nice and creamy)

Put all in crock pot. Add water just to cover and cook on high 3-4 hours until chicken is very well done. Debone.

Add cooked egg noodles at the very last.

Taste and add salt if needed.

Again, so sorry it took so long for me to see your request. Hope you like it.
