• Tony Belt who purchased the building at 511 Commercial St. in downtown Emporia that formerly housed Madelynn’s.
• ESU basketball player Cassondra Boston who was named the MIAA player of the week for the third time in the last four weeks.
• Dale Davis, owner of Sauder Custom Fabrication, who accepted the Ad Astra Award from the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
• Emporia’s Hostess Brands plant which was featured on “Foodtech,” a new show on the History channel.
