Speak up

Has America lost its voice? How can our opinions REALLY be heard. Sure, there’s always writing our congressmen, letters to editors, etc. But does any of it REALLY make a difference? Does it always fall on deaf ears?
With our economy in shambles and so many Americans out of work, and many, many more soon to be out of work, how can we as a nation even think that we can afford to take in the Haitian people, give them jobs, and pay to take care of them. We can’t even take care of our own.
Where are the other countries in times like this. They should be stepping up to the plate to take on that responsibility. For too long now, we have taken in any and all persons, giving up jobs, and paying for all kinds of assistance. America is broke! We use printed money that has no backing in silver or gold.
We cannot take on any more refugees. It seems like it says in our constitution that we only have to take in political refugees. It would be nice if we could do all this, but it just can’t work. Come on, Americans, let’s hear your voices.

At the State level,I think we ARE being heard,at least that's the idea I get from emails and face to face conversations with elected officials. At the City/County level-nope! At the National level we're being ignored on the surface- It doesn't fit the agenda! That will change.
