The Kansas Small Business Development Centers chose Flint Hills Laser Expressions to make their annual awards plaques last year and liked the products well enough to award the contract to the company again this year.
Getting the follow-up contract, however, means far more to company owners Rick and Rhonda Robidou because of the irony involved.
“I actually got to engrave my own plaque this year,” Rick Robidou said. “There’s probably not too many people who get to do that.”
The Robidous will accept the plaque they made, designating Flint Hills Laser Expressions as the Emerging Business of the Year, on March 9 in Topeka.
