Burlington woman killed in accident

Nola Dee Myers, 74, of Burlington was killed Tuesday afternoon when the car she was driving was struck by a 2004 Freightliner truck.

The accident, which was reported at 2:04 p.m., occurred about six miles north of Burlington on U.S. Highway 75.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Freightliner driven by William D. Austin, 53, of Crete, Neb., was headed north when it crossed the center line in a no-passing zone and struck the southbound Myers vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler passenger car.
