Due to the popularity of Tuesday’s oddities, we have a few more tidbits for you this morning to give you something to blog about.
Post away, snowflakes.
Brandy
On today’s sheriff log:
Theft of stolen cut firewood. The people were asked to stop loading the firewood in their truck. They ignored the request, and continued to load the firewood. (And yes, I find this one quite rude and disrespectful.)
In Dunlap, five radiators from junked cars were reported stolen.
A burglary was reported in Neosho Rapids. A red pillowcase was stolen along with Wii games, DVD, cash, change, a Colt .45 handgun and tools. (No, I do not find this funny either).
And my personal favorite, one of our other reporters had an item out of western Kansas where a person reported somebody entered their house and put food in the refrigerator. (I hope it was good food).
And no, these are not posted as funnies. They are posted not only for your information, but to give you all something to talk about today.
And seriously, if you have any information about these crimes, please call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 342-5545.
Cheers my friends,
Brandy

Thank you for sharing Brandy, as they are unusual. Tis the season for breaking and entering and theft. The daylight break-ins in Americus and Olpe are confirmation. Will be seeing a great deal more in the days ahead.

true story, yesterday in therapy, we had a very lively discussion about gardening tools. some in the room were staring at the ground, and biting their lips.... some of us were having a great time! : D

Maybe the radiator theives were using the radiators in their White Lightnin' stills? Call the Revenuers the Moonshiners are at it again! LOL That's why during prohibition so many people were getting sick and even dying from Moonshine because of chemicals in the car radiators they were using to distill their hooch in.

Good point, lowereastside. I wonder if somebody has found a new way to make meth using radiators?
Two years ago, I drove through Dunlap just out of curiosity and couldn't believe the number of gallon bleach bottles and large blue 50-gallon drums littering several yards around along the road. Made me wonder.

Good point create, we went through Dunlap a couple of years ago and it seemed that, considering the weather was very cold then, there were a lot of people out just kinda walking around the city streets. Not exercising sort of wandering.

Now, now.....don't go accusing the fine folks of Dunlap. Perhaps they were on 'possum patrol. Or radiator patrol or walnut tree patrol, or....... :)

Are there any certain clues to watch for? Any descriptions of people or vehicles? I know to watch for suspicious activity but do we have more to go on?

Especially if the people who were loading up the firewood got away. I use to live in a town 25 minutes away from the nearest police station so I do see how that could happen even if the people being stolen from called the minute they found out what was going on.
