Emporia High’s volleyball team went 2-1 at a quad on Tuesday at Topeka West, getting the Spartans back to .500 on the year at 9-9.
Emporia won its first two matches, beating Topeka West and Highland Park, before falling to Shawnee Heights in its finale.
“They played hard from the very beginning, which is one thing that we’ve really been stressing at practice, was to get after it from the first point of the game,” EHS coach Ashley Nehls said. “Which we did, so it was nice to see. I think the girls had a lot of fun doing it, too.”
