Fowler family

The John Fowler family held its annual reunion at the same time and same place that tradition requires — at Camp Alexander on the Sunday before Labor Day.
And, as always, there was plenty of “really good food and a lot of visiting and catching up on family news,” according to a report from a family spokesperson.
This year, Charlie and Joe Fowler of Lamar, Colo., traveled the most miles to come to Emporia for the picnic on Sept. 6. Also attending from out of state were John and Jana Longwith from Gladstone, Mo.; Irene and Dean Hayes and Jewlie Parks from Sedalia, Mo.; and Laura and Juliana Hewett from Marshall, Mo.
A few Fowlers have left Emporia, but still live in Kansas and were able to come to the reunion. They are Mark, Courtney, Piper and Paige Fowler of Manhattan; Pattie McGee of Paola; Mary, Jim and Levi Mackey of Kansas City, Kan.; and John, Laurie and James Wayman from Topeka.
Emporians who attended are: Jack and Ellinor Fowler, Amy and David Fowler, Tom and Ruth Fowler, Nancy, West, Joan and Harry Fowlers, Larry and Clay Fowler, Jim, Bonnie and Summer Fowler, Dustin Lingenfelter, Tanner Lasswell, Lynda and Van Hardesty, Derek and Cleata Oller, Merel and Jean Fowler, Ivan and Loetta Fowler, and Scott, Rhonda, Austin, Kelsey and Megan Gordon.

Wish I could have been there. This reunion has been going on for decades on the same day each year. I have many childhood memories at Camp Alexander with the Fowler family.
