Congratulations to Clean Sweep organizers, volunteers and most importantly everyone who brought trash to Jones Park.
These efforts are making a positive impact on our community.
If you have not taken advantage of the free trash dumping program yet you need to. There is going to be another opportunity this weekend.
We helped a friend dump unwanted stuff at the Clean Sweep disposal center on Saturday and was amazed at how simple and fast it was.
We loaded up tires, paints, solvents and a computer. Typically there are disposal fees for these items but all fees are waived for these special Clean Sweep weekends.
The process was so simple.
We pulled into Jones Park off Lincoln Street and waited in line for about a minute. Nearly 20 volunteers were there to help unload all our trash and get it sorted to the right bins. In a couple of minutes, we were on our way.
The whole process worked so well that we went back and got a second load to dispose of later that afternoon.
People will have another opportunity to dispose of unwanted items from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. People are encouraged to bring any and all trash they want to dispose of. There are no fees and you can come back as many times as you want.
There is still plenty of trash in our community that needs to be disposed of. Start gathering up your trash now. Happy dumping this weekend.
If you have any questions call 343-4275 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
