When Bruce Bergstrom, adjunct instructor for the division of technology at Flint Hills Technical College, told the industrial engineering technology students that he was volunteering at a free dental clinic in Colorado and talked to them how important it is to give back, he didn’t think he would have someone volunteer to go with him.
Zeb Peak, industrial engineering technology sophomore, told Bergstrom that he wanted to go, and Bergstrom was thrilled to have his help. Bergstrom and Peak both attended the Colorado Mission of Mercy Sept. 12 and 13, in Brighton, Colo.
The Colorado Mission of Mercy is a dental clinic in which portable dental stations are set up in a large public arena, and dental screenings and services are provided at no charge to those who attend. The event combines the donated services of hundreds of dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.
