Chase County is 2-1 thus far, but the Bulldogs have a couple of prevailing concerns as they travel to Northern Heights tonight.
First and foremost, there’s a sudden respiratory bug going around school, which is likely to cause Chase County to go a little deeper into its roster than it normally does. Second is, well, the CCHS secondary, which got torched by Mission Valley for 216 passing yards and, in Heights, faces another pass-happy team this week.
“While we had a few breakdowns the first two games, we were able to get away with those in the secondary,” Chase County coach Derick Budke said. “This past game, the mistakes we’ve been making in the secondary came home to roost.”
