Municipal judges in Kansas are authorized to perform marriage ceremonies all across the state.
Emporia Municipal Court Judge Ted Hollembeak takes that option to another level, by officiating in English or in Spanish, depending upon the couples’ preferences.
Hollembeak’s linguistic flexibility makes him in demand for couples who do not want to be married in a full-blown religious ceremony, whether it’s in English or in Spanish.

Way to be, Judge Hollembeak! It's great that you are so open-minded and eager to learn.

In Spanish and English. Equal opportunity? So will our judges be marrying gay couples as well? What a great step forward that would be for Kansas. Oh wait, our state thinks it's a religious issue insteaed of a civil rights issue. Whatever.

Judge Hollembeak married my husband and I. It was very nice, very low cost and was a great option for a couple of two different faiths. He's a fantastic guy.
