TOPEKA (AP) — State business and economic development officials are gathering next month to focus on methods for encouraging growth in Kansas downtowns.
The symposium, hosted by the Department of Commerce’s Main Street Program, will be held in Leavenworth from Oct. 21 through 23.
Community developers, business leaders and entrepreneurs will have a chance to network and attend workshops on how to get their ideas for economic development for the state’s downtown areas off the drawing board.
The Main Street Program helps community leaders revitalize downtown areas through federal grants. The program began in 1985 and provides training and other assistance to help cities and counties.
