The day was beautiful, the volunteers were ready and the kids didn’t let them down.

More than 70 children went to Camp Alexander on Saturday for the first Beau Arndt Outdoor Appreciation Day, during which they participated in activities designed to foster a love and respect for the outdoors.

Despite initial worries and through emotional times, Beau Arndt’s mother, Christine Arndt, said she was happy with the turnout at the event.
