Magazine feature
Kansas Physical Therapy Association magazine featured Irina Sosa-Cortinas of Emporia in its recent issue.
Sosa-Cortinas had been in Baltimore, Md., this summer to receive national recognition for advanced proficiency in musculoskeletal systems.
She received a certificate and a lapel pin from R. Scott Ward, president of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Sosa-Cortinas was one of 59 PTAs from across the United States who received the award. It is based on experience in the area of expertise, proof of continuing education hours in support of her specialty, community service, and letters of recommendation, according to the article.
She graduated from the PTA program at Washburn University in May 2000 and completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Washburn. She has worked at Emporia Physical Therapy for the past nine years.
