Henderson, Olpe girls win at the Orchard; Smith paces Northern Heights

Olpe junior Katelyn Henderson added another victory to her decorated cross country career on Thursday, winning the Northern Heights Cross Country Invitational at the Orchard and leading the Olpe girls to the team title.
Henderson’s run of 15 minutes, 47 seconds brought her to the finish line 32 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Northern Heights sophomore Kimberly Smith. Smith’s run helped the Ladycats to a second-place showing as a team; they finished with 55 points to Olpe’s 54.
Backing Henderson for Olpe was Kelsey Camien, who finished her run in 18:11 to earn a seventh-place finish. Taylor Scherdegger finished 11th for the Eagles with a time of 18:26, and Josie Herrick finished in 13th place. Katie Barnhart finished 29th for Olpe with a time of 20:50.

Very nice run Katelyn and Kimberly. The article doesn't tell it, but the time between 2nd place and the rest of the runners was as long as the gap between 1st and 2nd. Way to show them how it's done girls.
