Pianist and comedian Brian Hanson will perform in a concert Sept. 25, in the Grace United Methodist Church, 2 Neosho St.
The concert, which is open to the public, will include piano music, audience participation, and humor.
“Brian’s concerts are a unique blend of traditional favorites, the best of contemporary praise and worship and lots of laughs along the way,” according to a news release from the church.
Hanson’s song, “The Prayer of Jabez” was No. 1 for a total of 10 weeks on mp3.com’s Christian Easy Listening chart.
He produced the nationally televised talk show, “Worship Live,” on The Christian Network and also was network image producer for TCN.
Hanson composed scores for film and video, including composing and arranging original music for the The WatchWORD Bible, touted as the world’s first media Bible, which has been released on DVD.
Hanson also composed the music for an award-winning film, “Prison to Praise,” the release stated, and also created the “You Can Read Music This Morning” seminar. The seminar is intended to help people learn to read music quickly and easily.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for the concert in Emporia; the performance will start at 7 p.m. Admission is free of charge, although an offering will be taken.
