The Emporia High girls’ golf team finished eighth on Tuesday at Village Greens Golf Course in Ozawkie at a tournament hosted by Seaman.
Hannah Watkins led the Spartans with a 49 and tied for 14th. Melissa Heinitz shot a 51, Amber Mechtley finished with a 55 and Makenzie Harder shot a 57 in the nine-hole tournament.
Rachael Clopton and Kelsey Burenheide rounded out the scoring for the Spartans with a 59 and 67. The Spartans had a team score of 211. Topeka Hayden won the tournament with a 186.
The Spartan golfers are off until Sept. 29 when they travel to Topeka for the Centennial League tournament.
