Semi rolls on Highway 177

Monday, September 14, 2009

John F. Trembly, 58, of Iola was taken to Morris County Hospital in Council Grove Monday morning for treatment of injuries he received when the semi-tractor trailer he was driving ran off the road and overturned.

The accident happened about 9:50 a.m. at Mile Marker 60 of Highway 177, approximately five miles south of Council Grove.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Trembly was driving south in a 2003 Kenworth truck when the accident happened. He was wearing a safety restraint, the report stated.

Trembly's condition was not available. A hospital spokesman said that without a signed release from a patient or a patient's legal representative, he could not release any information about the patient.

Employees of All American Tow in Manhattan were working to get the semi upright and towed away from the scene shortly before 2 p.m. today, an All American Tow spokesperson said.
