Tacos
The Church of the Nazarene Youth Group will have a taco feed at 4:30 p.m. and silent auction at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Church Activity Center at 24th Avenue and Industrial Road. The cost for the taco feed is $4 per person. Items at the auction include a full-size quilt, a guided turkey hunt that will be taped for the buyer and smaller items, such as a basket of items from merchants of Emporia.
Mexican supper
The Sacred Heart School annual Mexican supper will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The menu features two tacos, rice, chips and cheese, dessert and beverage. Carry-out also will be available. If bought ahead, tickets are $6 and may be purchased from the school students or at the office. Tickets cost $7 at the door.
Fall festival
The Grace United Methodist Church Fall Festival will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19. Dozens of local and regional vendors will be selling art, crafts, jewelry, fashion items, home decor and more. A local band will play and entertainers will perform throughout the day. Children’s activities include the Art Mobile, a petting zoo and games.
There also will be a silent auction, bake sale, clowns, balloon animals, snow cones and cotton candy. For breakfast, the church will have homemade cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes and muffins. Bierocks and sloppy joes will be served for lunch. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. For more information, call 343-2613.
