MDA donation

Emporia firefighters will travel to Topeka on Monday to present a check for $5,645 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the annual telethon. The money came from donations given at three days of boot blocks last weekend. Acting Officer Ron Ewing said the MDA was impressed with the amount raised, and he thanked all the businesses who helped and people who donated.
Ewing also said that firefighters found a “miraculous medal” medallion in with the donations and are concerned that someone is looking for it. The medallion can be claimed at Fire Station 1.
