H1N1 Vaccine clinics set

New clinic dates are set for H1N1 vaccinations at the Lyon County Health Department.
Renee Hively, public health manager for Lyon County Health Department, said in a press release that until vaccine availability increases, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have identified high priority groups including:
• Children 6 months to 4 years of age.
• Children and adolescents 5-18 years of age who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
• Pregnant women.
• Persons who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months of age (parents, siblings and day care providers).
• Health care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct patient contact with patients or infectious material.
Two vaccination clinics will be available at the Lyon County Health Department:
• Monday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
• Thursday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
