Vehicle tags
Friday is the last day for people whose last name begins with the letter “S” to renew their vehicle registrations without a penalty. The motor vehicle office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those renewing are to bring their driver’s license and proof of insurance for each vehicle.
Cold Weather Rule
The Kansas Corporation Commission wants to remind Kansans that the Cold Weather Rule will go into effect Sunday and run through March 31, stated the news release.
The Cold Weather Rule prohibits utility companies from disconnecting a customer’s natural gas or electric service during periods of extreme cold and requires utility companies to offer a 12-month payment plan to allow consumers to maintain or reestablish utility service. For more information about the Cold Weather Rule, see http://kcc.ks.gov/pi/cwr_english.pdf or call the local utility company or the KCC Office of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at 1-800-662-0027.
