Pole Sit fundraiser
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Phi Delta Theta Kansas Epsilon will have the 23rd annual Pole Sit beginning at 6 a.m. Friday and continuing until noon Saturday at 1200 Commercial St. Over the past several years, Phi Delta Theta has contributed more than $60,000 to the S.O.S foundation, helping to generate a positive local contribution from the community, stated the news release.
The first pole sit was held on Halloween in 1986. It ran for 12 hours and generated about $320. The following year, for the first and only time, the money was donated to the “Kids of Oz.” Phi Delta Theta now holds this event, no matter the weather, for 30 consecutive hours to “help support the community and the S.O.S. Foundation.” For more information, call Ben Reilly at 343-2378.
