The board of trustees of the Emporia Community Foundation awarded six grants to area organizations, discussed plans to pursue a new Kansas Health Foundation Initiative and elected four new trustees during its quarterly meeting this month.
A total of $10,944 was awarded in grants to Boy Scout Troop 165, the Lyon County Historical Museum, Kansas Children’s Service League, Emporia Rescue Mission, Emporia Christian School and S.O.S.
The awards were the second of two annual grant periods, held for spring and fall release.
