Soup supper

The First Congregational Church will have its annual Harvest Soup Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Fellowship Hall of the church, 326 W. 12th Ave.

An assortment of soup choices will be offered — vegetable beef, chicken noodle, broccoli-cheese, chili — plus crackers, salad, dessert, iced tea and coffee.

A donation of $6 for adults and $3 for children is suggested.

The meal is open to the public.

Train rides, games

“Tootin’ for a Cure,” a benefit train ride on the miniature train at Soden’s Grove, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. There also will be games, prizes and Pick a Duck. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Cure fundraiser.

Help for Donna Sleezer

A Chili Supper and Theme Basket Raffle fundraiser will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Olpe Elementary/High School lunchroom to help Donna Sleezer, a parent and cook at Olpe Elementary/High School, with medical expenses in her fight against cancer.

Free-will donations will be accepted for the chili supper. The raffle will be for the chance to win one of many baskets of prizes, each with its own theme. The winners of the raffle will be announced at 7 p.m., but do not have to be present to win.

Turkey and ham

The Gridley United Methodist Women will have the annual Turkey and Ham Supper beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. Vegetables, salads, homemade rolls and pies also will be sold. A free will offering will be accepted.

Dinner and bake sale

The Admire United Methodist Church Harvest Dinner and Bake Sale will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church lower level. The menu includes the traditional “Family Ham Balls,” cheesy potatoes, green beans, gelatin salad, hot rolls, freshly baked desserts and coffee or tea.

Free-will donations for the meal will be accepted.

There will be a live auction of baked goods and donated items.

Supper and auction

The Saffordville United Methodist Church Harvest Supper and Auction will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Saffordville schoolhouse.

Supper will include chicken and noodles/meatballs, vegetables, salads, pies and beverages. The cost is $7 for advanced tickets for adults or $7.50 at the door; children six to 12 years, $3; under six years, free. The auction after supper will include handmade items, baked goods and specialty items.
