ON MONDAY, THE Gazette published a story on Jodi Heermann and her work as the new director of the Newman Regional Health Foundation.
Although the foundation has been around since 1957, this is the first time the hospital has hired a full-time director in an effort to make the foundation more visible.
A strong hospital is extremely important to our commuity, so it is good see the hospital making the foundation more active in an effort to support the hospital.
From babies being born to emergencies to living your final days, everyone who lives here at some point will pass through Newman’s doors. When it’s your time, you will want the very best care.
Typically when people think of foundations they think of universities and not hospitals.
But if you travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn., you can see the power of a hospital foundation at work. There they have whole wings and buildings named after donors and have created a world-renowned medical facility.
Newman Regional Health is our Mayo Clinic, so we need to make it the best it can be. Your donations are important.
When you are planning your bequests think of the Newman Regional Health Foundation. They likely took care of you in your time of need, and your donation will live on taking care of others.
