City commissioners will be discussing a contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield for a health insurance policy for city employees when they meet for a regular meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the city commission room, 518 Mechanic St. Other items on the agenda include:
• Approve an easement from Westlake Homeowners Association.
• Contract with the City of Olpe for water service.
• Adopt Standard Traffic Ordinance.
Commissioners also will approve an ordinance that mean a 19 percent increase in solid waste rates. The increase comes on top of a 16 percent increase in water rates, which was approved two weeks ago. A decision on the solid waste rate increase was delayed at the commission’s last meeting to gather information on the cost of polycarts.

Brace yourselves, city employees, here comes that 20% rate hike the BCBS reps promised the commissioners last year.
